Default Smart to go with used clutch?

There's a used Spec 3 and flywheel in the for sale forum that I'm eyeballin'. Approx. 10k on it, and looks decent in the pics. PM'ing now to get more info on it. Asking $175. Is the money I would save by purchasing this over a new Spec 3 and flywheel worth it? Or would I just be pissing my money away?

I dunno, for a wear item like that I'd be leary about purchasing one used. Could end up being a nightmare if it's more "used" than you think.

I don't think I would take a chance either. The pressure plate may have had problems along with needing a surface regrind. Buy a new set.

Yep, new clutches aren't that expensive in the grand scheme of things, so it's always good to get a new kit on that sort of thing.

I got a McLeod single kevlar disc kit, which includes the adjustable master cylinder and a new flywheel for $685 shipped... very nice kit for the price.

Yeah a Street twin is the only clutch I'd buy used if I got a killer deal.
