Testdrove a new GTO today..
very nice car indeed
had good power..was comfortable to ride/drive... plenty of room for everyone..
and the engine bay.. actually has room to work on stuff!
i wouldn't buy from the dealer i was at though.. the salesman was a little bit too happy to be burning the tires at every possibility
but i have a few lenders looking around the area for a C5 for me... but this might change my mind..
i mean.. a new LS2 car.. with warranty... for just a little bit more money
hmmmmmm
what should i do

In fact if your serious about it let me set it up that way I get a refferal of 500 I think. I'll split the 500 with ya if you buy it.
i talked to a guy at the dealer out there.. he claimed they had one '05 GTO auto.. the other is a '04 M6
the dealership i'm heading to tomorrow is on Canyon Road... the guy claimed he would be able to get one in my options ('05 midnight blue/black leather, M6) in about a day
so we'll see what happens...
but yeah, that is a good policy to have.
The jackass salesman today leaving the lot almost immediately hit a car.. fishtailing around corners to try to impress me
Then him hitting the rev limiter in 1st wasn't all too great to hear either.
i was nice to it though.. surprisingly enough.

I say....
do it, do it, do it.
I have no regrets about buying my '04. I'm not too sure about that "Fly-by-wire business on the '05s. LS2 would be nice, though. Half the cost of the Corvette, if you play your cards right. What a terrrible choice you have to make. Corvette or GTO. hmm....
Good luck,
Maximental

You never said if you needed the back seats. I take it you don't otherwise you would not have mentioned the C5. I like them both but the C5 is the better deal. You need to go drive one before you decide. Hell, for the price of a new GTO you can get a real clean Z06.

I should be able to get away with paying less than I do now for the Camaro... so it is very tempting.
The only problem is the Camaro is paid for in another year... a Z06 would add payments for 3 more years.
