Default Can you say "Oh Yea"! LS7 Crate Motor has arrived!

It looks good just sitting on my garage floor! Guess I'll be busy over the Holidays Still got some details to work but it'll be fun! Hopefully now after a few mods I can get the boot for running 11.49 with street tires

So, are you gonna tear it down and replace the crank wheel? Or are you gonna find something to run it?

Does that come with the dry sump oiling system, or does it use the standard wet sump oiling? Is it rated at the same 505HP as the Z06?

pretty bad *** (I think it would fit better in my pickup than in your monte )

After you tell us what PCM you are planning on using you can tell us what you are going to do with your LS6 (hint hint nudge nudge).

You can take it to the bank that one of the major shops will have something figured out soon, which will be the eaiest/fastest way to adapt. As for the LS6, you can have the boat anchor.

I guess I will have to differ my claim on the anchor to Ellis. He is the master, I am just the no-go-show-boat.

Thanks for the support guys! Let me take a cut at answering your questions below:
So where in tacoma are you?
PM me offline
What are you doing about engine management?
Holding out for GM electronics. I've been in touch with Keith at HPT and he's pretty close to having the LS7 PCM hacked.
So, are you gonna tear it down and replace the crank wheel? Or are you gonna find something to run it?
That was my original plan but after conferring with keith, I think I'll hold out for the HPT S/W & GM PCM.
Does that come with the dry sump oiling system, or does it use the standard wet sump oiling?
Yes, dry sump
Is it rated at the same 505HP as the Z06?
Yes, it is a ZO6 motor which has come right off of the production line! You can even see the wear marks on the water pump pulley from the 20 minute run on the engine dyno!
What's it going in?
My Monte '88 SS
After you tell us what PCM you are planning on using you can tell us what you are going to do with your LS6
Tentatively sold to another local LSx enthusist!
When is the new baby shower?
Stay tuned!
