Default Baby got a new pair of shoes!

I really needed some new rear tires for the Z28, so here's what I bought. They're my street tires, but I'll also be using them at the track for a while. I'll be getting some Centerline rears along with the new Goodyear SS drag radials later on this year, but I have some nitrous accessories to buy right now.

Good deal!

I just ordered some new shoes for mine today too. Some M/T 275/40R17s, my goal is to get kicked off the track this yr w/ only N/A.

Let's do some math:

12.19 @ 112 w/ 1.96 60' (and a blown gasket)

New tranny, and diff will put it around:

12.1 @ 114 w/ 1.96 60'

New DR setup

1.96 -> 1.70 (-.26)

.26 x 2 = .52 (max)
.26 x 1.5 = .39 (avg)
.26 x 1 = .26 (min)

12.1 - .52 = 11.58 (max)
12.1 - .39 = 11.71 (avg)
12.1 - .26 = 11.84 (min)

New AFR heads, intake, plugs, wires, tb, inj, tune:

CR - 11.34:1 (from 10.6:1)
DCR - 8.67 (N/A)
Quench - ~.033 (from .052)

Final Time - 11.??

Cory it looks like you'll have a strong set of heads coming your way, as soon as my AFRs get here.

Sorry if I hijacked your thread, got a little excited.

Yours look MUCH better for traction then those rock hard POS tires we used to use.

I'm sure these BFGs would be ok in the rain as long as they're fairly new... but since I plan on doing a few gratuitous burnouts with them, I doubt that tread will last very long.

My Z28 is lucky if it leaves the garage once a week these days since the CCC racing hasn't started up yet, so I ain't too worried about it. Rainy crappy weather, better gas mileage, and comfortable stop & go traffic sitting is what my Wimpy Impy is for.
