I'm gonna get a Super Comp license!!
Well my cousin gets back from all his travels on May 15th. He wants me to get my license in his 540 Merlin S/C dragster!! Since it will likely be on a T/T day you guys should come out.
Here's a nice little article on him from nhra.com:

Not sure about that. I do know they'll ease you into your full pass run. Usually in 4 or 5 steps. launch to 330ft and shut it down and coast to the finish, then it's 660ft then 1000ft then a full pass. Or something close to that scenario anyway. After your licensed I don't think it'll be an issue, you can run full out without the stop and electronics anytime you want I believe.
Are you going to be running in the S/C class this year in that Dragster?

May do a couple little races when he's in Charlotte Lucas' dragster.
I may keep my eye out for a screaming deal on a rolling chassis that I could put a LSx engine in to be different.

S/C and S/G are two of the most difficult Sportsman classes to race in. You need at least a .025 package to do well. Maybe I'll see ya at some races. I'm helpin a buddy in the S/C class this season.

Who you helping? Gonna be out there this weekend? My uncle will be racing Brad's dragster. Brad finished #3 nationally last yr so he always has a good package. Not to brag here but I have been pretty deadly on the tree myself in my stick car and the bike (like .010-.045) which aint bad and have also won a couple practice tree tournaments w/ some fellow racers...

Right now I'm not in a situation where I can focus on racing too much but it would be sweet to go out and get a Wally! I raced in the Pro class in my 98 Z M6 and went to the semis (5th round) against a 10 sec Chevelle. Gave back the stripe by like 1 hundreth. Damn it's hard judging a car catching you by 20+ mph! Then try on a bike w/ 123 mph traps against a 155 mph bike! Damn!!Plus I was dumping at the stripe so he was charging at me at ~40-45 mph...HAHA So fun though!

I'm ending up not going this weekend. Too many other commitments to attend to, so gotta keep it in the shop for another couple weeks until the Boise Divisional. Good luck guys.

Sounds like fun Jason. I might know of a dragster chassis for sale, & a pro stock Firebird. You could run S/C or S/G in either I believe....let us know when you are going to make some runs.
You are racing this weekend Don? I wish me & my car were ready, I'd join you....WALLY

That sounds like fun. I just picked up a rolling chasis 1996 Soran dragster for $6500. I'm going to drop a small block in it for now. This is for the wife to drive and I want to start her out slow. She has drag raced the camaro many times before so I know she can handle this. I was thinking the same thing about being different. I sould like to drop in a LSx motor too, but I have 2 LT1's in the garage plus the one in my camaro, full spare wiring harness and computers, so I think I'm going to drop one of those in in the future. I just finished my licensing passes this weekend for my bike. You have to do 4 moderate passes before you can do your 2 full passes. Go get your medical exam done before this weekend. You have to have your physical before starting your passes. You probably already know that. Congrats and have fun
