Default How I fared last night

My first pass netted an 11.00 @ 120-something with the same tune that it ran a 10.81 on 2 weeks ago. (can you say the traction sucked last night - I ran a 1.65 60' on that run) So I raised my shift points up & lowered the air in the tires to 12 lbs and ran a 10.86 @ 126 with a 1.57 60'.

According to the video Linda took of that run, the car pulled the L front tire for a couple nano-seconds & then lost traction. But the fuel pressure was at least 40 psi the entire run. So that issue is solved (at least with the big pulley).

I was going to make one more pass to see if I could get traction, but when I went to check the tire pressure I noticed the L QTP has rotated about 3-4". Enough that the metal valve stem on the racing tube was tweaked. So I bagged it.

And my IATs are north of 140 now, so the meth kit needs to go on. They were at ~120 with the P blower, so I think the majority of my extra hp from the increased boost is getting wasted. Hopefully I can get that done & hit another TnT with the small pulley before the last CCC race.

Like I said at the track last night, when your done with the meth kit install let me know when you plan on taking it to the track. I still have yet to witness any of your 10 seconds passes.

I figure you should be good for deep 10's when your done with this stuff......and I'm sure to see some.

Dude, the first issue you need to deal with is your fuel situation. 40 PSI isn't cutting it. I run 2 intank walbro 255's in parallel and maintain 60psi. One thing you have to realize is that as the boost level increases, the actual Differential pressure between the inlet and outlet of the injector deacreases. So if you are seeing 40psi and there is 10-12psi in the manifold, your injectors are really only seeing 28-30 psi. That means that your injectors which are 60lb/hr at 43.5psi are really only 45 lb/hr... That just isn't enough fuel.

Are you running a wideband? If not, you really need one.

Hey, this is just my $.02. I would hate to see you hurt your new stroker.

I was wondering about the boost affecting the "useable" fuel rail pressure. I should have gone over board to begin with & installed the dual pumps.

I tired installing my wideband, but my bung is welded in place. Ellis gave me a new one, but I haven't had it installed yet. Seems I have much to do before my next trip to the track.

You can never have too much fuel system on a car with that much power (where have I heard that before?). Sounds like you need some tire screws too. I dont really recommend running tubes without them.

That thing was launching like a ****. All passes look good on the launch, intially at least. Yea, when you said 40psi I was also thinking to myself, not good, an indication you may be going lean. We'll see ya at the Wed t/t. I have a new Nitrous Direct "Ultimate PRO Dry" coming SAT, based on the NX line with a few other brand products thrown in the mix (dual staged of course, and possibly my 3rd stage wet will be working). 10's or blown motor for me.

I wish I could post videos. You should see the one Linda took from the other side. DAMN!

Yeah yeah EJ, fuel cell, dual monster pumps, 1/2" braided steel fuel lines....in spite of what you guys think, I am NOT made of $. If I had known I was going to end up with the D blower on the car this year, I would have built the system for it. But I built it for the P, and it WAS working. Now I need to band-aid it to get by for the rest of the year.

This hobby just hacks away at the wallet huh?

I have to pull chunks of money and put it asside or I'll get in trouble. I don't want the wife to burn down my car.

Now you know why i got out of the hobby. It never ends, once you get to a point like where your at it starts to cost a real large sum of money. wlcome to the 10 second club and wanting to go faster

I wish you the best of luck, i would try duel intake pumps and some new fuel line. That would probely be the cheapest route. Even with the meth you are still going to starve the motor. It's not the knock your woried about it is the supply issue. The fuel cell is a hard item to fit in the back of these things unless you go with one of the custome allum. ones like nasty or speed inc sells, once again something i also tried

You could also just gut the damn thing and be in the nines But you old people need that comfort stuff J/K
