Default Ordered up some new parts for the project....

......damn this crap cost a lot of money.

Parts ordered were all from Total Cost Involved. Ordered the whole IFS with show package and Airbags with 12" brakes. Also ordered the Rear 4 link with a ford 9" with Airbags as well and 12" disk brakes. Should get it all in about 4 weeks, but wont get installed for a while. All of this just to put a Ford motor in the Camaro, damn.....When are you guys going to tell me how to get some more power out of this LS1......

JK about the ford motor.

Damn Rick, that's going to be sweet. Are you building a touring car?

As for getting the power out of an LS1, FORCE it baby....

Have you checked these guys out: Detroit Speed

These guys are a husband and wife engineering team that was part of GM's suspension engineeering department. They left GM and formed Detroit Speed and the rest is history.

Yeah, I have checked out Detroit speed, too much coin for my blood. Yeah, I was going to talk to you Ellis a little about some work. I also have been thinking about that KB or the Whipple for it too...

KB or Whipple....what a dilemma. Nice thing about a 1st gen, it has room for that option.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I am still leaning towards the KB for this, the Whipple that they have is the 3.3 liter blower, so thats big...lol....

Anyways, I need to do a mild build while the engine is on a stand, like heads and cam and what about the oiling system and gear drive? Whats the best for this

I run a ported LS6 oil pump with a Roll Master double roller timing gear & chain. It's kind of a standard upgrade for guys like you (us). My car holds 40 psi @ idle & runs 60+ while driving. There is 0 slop in the chain & it has degreeing provisions. Is the bottom end stock?

Yeah, the bottom end is stock. What about heads, what will be good for a blower later, I might not add it right now, but I dont want to change it all again later.

For heads get a set of 6.0 LQ4 heads. then have bigger valves and springs out in with a little porting

Ask Mark how they work
