You guys recall the wreck my son was in..

Well, he's walking fine, working etc. etc. Today, he put the smackdown on a Terminator from a roll twice in his '97 Eclipse GSX (paid for by the accident) going from 60 to 100. He gave the Cobra the jump and got him by a car each time. Not too shabby for a car we just finished modding. He was @ 20 PSI putting down around 340-360 WHP but is capable of 500+ WHP @ 30 PSI. The race weight with him in it is 3300#'s. Having ridden in and raced mine, he's really stoked about this kill. I can't say I blame him. We both figure the Cobra was stock or it wouldn't have been so much fun.

Wow that is great to hear!

Good kill also!

michael402z06 11-01-2006 08:39 PM

howierd42 11-02-2006 12:13 AM

I remember. Glad to hear he is back and doing ok.

Good kill.

Poik 11-02-2006 01:34 AM

Sweet. So is the bottom end all forged then?

WAHUSKER 11-02-2006 07:59 AM

Sweet, glad to see he's recovering well Charlie!

CharlieCobra03 11-02-2006 09:32 AM

The 4G63's come stock with forged bottom end. He's 22 now and looks to be doing fine.

Ryan K 11-02-2006 10:17 AM

I am glad it seams he learned his lesson...

CharlieCobra03 11-02-2006 10:38 AM

Well, he wasn't driving or very coherent that time. At least he's sober behind the wheel and won't ride with someone who isn't these days.

LSxChevelle 11-02-2006 11:08 AM

Glad to hear he is doing well and great kill!

No offense because I am thrilled to hear he is recovering so well but I am sad to hear he is out street racing (??) and that his father is condoning it. Again, it isn't personal but after the trauma he has been through, regardless of whether or not he was driving, coherent, sober, whatever for the crash......he was in a near fatal car wreck and is now out racing at triple digit speeds on the street/highway. :(

I truly hope nothing else bad happens to him.

GEARHED 11-02-2006 05:01 PM

Good to hear he's coming along in life, been wondering about his progress

CharlieCobra03 11-02-2006 06:36 PM

Yeah, he's street racing. I've been doing it for over 30 years myself. Whatcha gonna do? He'd be out there tearing it up with or without my blessing. At least he picks his spots and doesn't just go when the opportunity presents itself. As for triple digit speeds? From 60 that takes all of what? 8 seconds at his power level?

99blancoSS 11-02-2006 07:03 PM

Glad to hear he's doing good!! I street race occasionaly so I cant really say anything.

Rawr256 11-03-2006 11:04 AM

I can totally agree with Rott is saying, but every now and then, you need to clean out the cobwebs in your exhaust right? :)

My dad sounds a bit like you, if the chance is presented to race, he is willing to go along providing it isn't in a stupid spot at all, when I do it he has a nervous look but by the time I finish a story he is laughing. Whats bad is when we switch cars and he will beat on mine more than I will. :jest: When my tranny went out in my GTP he felt so bad that he pitched in a bit of money because he had a feeling he might have provoked it with the heavy burnouts in the car at the track earlier in the year. :eyes:

Glad to hear your kid is doing ok, just remember, at high speeds things happen fast, I always look back on the stuff Leno said about him driving that Porsche GT at about 200mph and someone saying to him, everytime you blink, you just covered a football field! :eek2: 100MPH is my limit on the street, and that only ever really happens if I pass someone and I go to 2nd and go WOT rather than 3rd. :judge: :drive:

That's very convenient.

Nothing. It is your life and his, not mine. I was just saying that it was sad to hear that after all he had been thru. I also said I was very glad he is coming along so well.

And somehow that will ensure his safety? I guess we can all hope so.

And it takes only one second for something bad to happen.........again, I am not looking to argue, I was just making an observation and giving my congrats that he was doing well.

CharlieCobra03 11-03-2006 02:35 PM

I get your point Rott. It is what it is.

DCStroker347 11-25-2006 04:24 PM

glad to hear it!!!
