Lesson learned ... never ever put ice on your blower. EVER.
It's happened to a few folks on the board. I only put ice on the blower at the track when I wasn't filling the ice box.
The metals were expanding at different rates and got closer and closer ... one day I was particularly rough on the car, was bombing down I5 racing a Porsche out of Mt. Vernon and it gave out on me in triple digits while coasting back down to 60.
Could have been more exciting, but it was the first tow home the year at 3am. Rick was riding shotgun, so he had to share the experience of being stranded on the side of the road to.
There were a few other small parts that broke, but that's another story.

So you iced the housing and it shrank while the impeller/rotor stayed expanded and took away the tolerance fit?
I know about the axles, saw them at Groo's garage.

That is the last known video of that car "running".
I had some sweet wheelhop off the line (where I backed off for a sec) which aided destruction next run.
Next year ... next year.

For my part, I have ended my painful relationship with Kieth Black 151 hyperautectic pistons. Two failures in one season was enough for me.
The new combo is running

As far as the dots go, i had a couple. With this trans and some new shoes I should have a few more dots this year, only they will be handing me 10 second timeslips to go with them.

And I know my experience in such things is limited, but IMO if you have a car that's running 10s you better have a trailer cuz **** breaks a LOT more often. And violently! Simple things like throwing a fan belt can render your car undriveable.
Unless of course you actually LIKE the abuse we Chebby guys are giving you Blue Oval dudes.

But I will give ford props on that rear end, one of the best things they ever designed.
