If memory serves, the stock (5-speed) fuel injected (1986-1993) Fox body 5.0's ran 14.9-15.3 in the low 90 MPH's on average according to numerous magazine tests. Dunno what this individual has done nor what his driving skills are like, but that gives you a general baseline to go from.

And yes, Ford lovers, I am sure there were some tests that had them faster, but the numbers I put up are on the fast side of the averages.

I will say there arent very many F bodies in here with all stock long blocks with any power adder running with me. Crazy what you can do with a 78 ford fairmont chassis and an old mark 7 motor.
I have a bone stock longblock, and don't even have headers, and as a former stang owner (to show not much bias), can say for certain that the lsx platform is the best going today.

I havent been to the track yet, but I plan on going as soon as it opens up.

Mike... I could care less if you hit up the mustang boards and talk ****... go for it. Im not claiming to be faster than any body on these boards, nor am i talking trash about their cars... Im not even claiming to be fast. Just having a little fun.

I got a phone call from my old man, and he said told me to check out the board, so i did...

Yes it would... Well I would hope so...

Although by the time the new Camaro hits the road, I imagine my car will be significantly faster.

Sean if your going to the track take Mike with ya so he can give you some pointers. And most importantly, do not listen to a word your dad says on drag racing. He drives like he has a colostomy bag stuck in his shifter.

You guys with the stick cars need to let me drive 'em, I bet I can make 'em not as slow (not you Mike). Just ask Ellis...he's seen my transmissions...haha! Oh yeah, fords suck, chevy's suck, but my pontiac with a chevy motor is awesome! I'm bored right now, car's still sitting in driveway covered in snow. And why do the belts on the 5-pt harnesses expire? Isn't that dumb? Debating between the camlock and regular latch this time...stupid things are expensive. Btw, this whole thread is entertaining, 113 replies so far, haha!

Or quite a bit slower than my 4 cyl mustang with a front mount and more boost.

Yea, i know, I was just throwing out some **** to stir the pot. As for catching up, well better get a bigger hair dryer, as my intial goal from the get go is to hit 10.5x.
Man, I can't wait either, for some racing, but the way the weathers been, Feb 4 we will see...

No fair picking on the guy 8,000 miles away. You are definitely faster right now as my car is on jackstands sans carb, headers and ignition AND driver. I'll come out and play this summer after I get home and the twins get settled in.

Are we having fun yet??? I agree this is good, we need a lil competition to keep the blood boiling and a decent level..

But lets remember, as friends and car enthusiests, we don't need to use a hatchet to remove a fly from one's forehead.

Lets get along, talk our fair share of ****, and have fun doing it. Jr, you know as I do we will have to live in our flame suits while on this board, that is fine and expected. But we can still have fun.

Ryan, I can drive better than you, Mike may be a diff story, at least for now..
All I need is a lil more seat time and I will be just fine to carry my own.

NOW, back to the facts.

We can make a Pinto FAST and you guys can make a VEGA FAST, given enough money and aftermarket parts.

NOW, STOCK VS. STOCK---

What is the FASTEST CAMARO ever produced? STOCK?

We are not comparing corvettes to GT40's here, we are talking the original pony car wars...

The TERM is by far the best bang for the buck stock..

Thank you, Ken
