Default Anyone on the fence about ORR?

If so, I just got a PM from one of the open road race guys that might help you decide. He is willing to pay 1/2 the entry fee for up to 2 rookies that enter the Gamblers Run Twin 50 race in July. (July 12-14th in Elko NV)

I haven't been to this event yet, but I hear this is one of the more fun races. They are all a blast! So if anyone has been thinking about trying one, let me know & I'll put you in touch with him.

I'm curious,

this is the one you're doing, right?

ballpark, what's the cost to get into this?
I know I will definately need an SA rated helmet, and some other safety gear too.

I'm trying to look thru the rules now.

No, I am signed up for the Bonneville 100 in June. I can't make this one becasue of my work schedule, money etc. I think Boyce is going.

The cost of safety equip etc is related to how fast you want to go. For most of the classes a rookie can enter, you don't "need" that much. I think I'm in just about the highest class, and I don't need a roll bar. Not even sure I need a fire suit. For sure not a fire suppression system. But I have all of that + a new SA helmet because I chose to.

You will need good tires & other basic things like seat belts & a fire extiguisher.

So Russ, are you interested in this? If my tires are in good enough shape after the B 100 race, I'll let you use them. I just bought a new set of 275/40/17 Toyo RA1s....not sure if they'll fit your car, but I assume they're good for more than a single 100 mile race.

And Boyce is signed up for this event.....nav-ing for Jeffy in Da Vette

I would be very interested,
but between work and finances, I don't think I can swing it.

If you were ever going to run an ORR, Gamblers is the one to run.
