Default Evil Knievel at PR new world record

I found this pic while surfing, and it reminded me of old. Was anyone else at Seattle International in the eary 70's to witness EK break the worlds record by jumping 18 cars (IIRC). He just about bit it on his warm up jump of 13 cars, the back wheel calapsed. Back when men were men, and sheep still ran scared.

LOL, I wasn't there cuz I was only about 3 at the time. But I had an EK motorcycle toy that wound up and shot the motorcycle out a launching pad. One of my coolest toys as a child. Well, at least until the AFX cars came along, then Atari, then RC cars, then real motorcycles, then.............

Check out my Fquik link, it's really cool free garage site, you can host all your car pics, videos and all info on your car, it's really cool. In 1978, i was running a shorty 56 Chevy wagon, and it would do small wheel stands, and of course a mildly built small block 327. Puyallup Drag Strip on Meridian was still going, IIRC, about 1/3 of a mile from your house, wouldn't that be sweet if it was still open?

I wasn't there but sure was into Camaros, motorcycles and EK back then. I remember the publicity prior to the event and watching the crash video time and time again. If that was the one where the front wheel starts what is known as a tank slapper. I got my license in '74 and remeber the show "Then came Bronson".
