Default Getting Closer...

Picked up the car from TTi last week and then got in in the garage on Saturday. The car is pretty much done minus the charge pipes and down pipe. I did some final wiring and finished up the fuel system on Sunday and then filled all of the fluids today.

Whats left:

-Boost Controller wiring, mount the control box, and mounting the solenoids
-Install Downpipe and charge pipes (wiating on Performance Coatings)

Thats pretty much it, I am holding off on doing a few things. I want to get a few pulls on the dyno and then get a couple of days at the track. Then is coming back into the garage for the full cage install and battery relocation.

Anyway here are a few pictures for your enjoyment:

Lookin real good man. That one exhaust tube running around the tie rod is pretty crazy. Im a little surprised to see you still have the sway bar on the car considering its primarily a drag car.

Looks great Ryan. It looks better in person, can't believe that big one fits in there. It does, however, look right at home!

Setup for drag? What makes you think that? There is actually very little that makes it a drag car. I guess having way too much hp is what makes it a drag car?

Lets see,
9" with 3.50 gears, nope
Yank 3400 rpm converter, Way too tight for a good 60', nope
Willwood 13" 6 piston brakes, too big to fit a light wieght front runner, nope
Bilstien HD Shocks all the way around, Nope
Suspension techniques HD Front swaybar, nope
30lbs. of Dynamat sound deadener, nope

No drag only car here...

Sure.

The more horsepower you add the narrower the road gets leading DIRECTLY to drag car. Having a car with that much power really isn't going to do well in anything else. You've already exceeded the reasonable amount of power for a car which could be fast around turns (other then ORR) and adding suspension mods really isn't going to help.

Try driving that car even 7/10th around a road course? Realistically how often are you plan to do anything else on a track but drag race? With an auto?

It's a fair assumption and based on everything you have in your signature (even more so if one has never seen your car) leads one to believe it is indeed primarily a drag car.

I drive my Cobra on the street, enjoy twisty back roads but will always consider it more of a drag car (and not even a great one at that). It's just too heavy and will never perform well around corners compared to one which is dialed into to take turns (and suffer in drag races).

Don't get me wrong, your car is AMAZING and sure ... isn't completely incapable of taking a turn or two ... but realistically I would sure say it's primary focus is straight line performance.

Getting that thing sideways through a turn rolling into the throttle would not be fun. Even worse with a turbo.

Let's just be honest and say it's basically a 4k lb wrecking ball in anything other then drag.

Yea, when you're watching from the sidelines.

It would be maddening as all hell trying to legitimately lap the car and have it do that all the time?

No thanks.

I didnt realize you did any other kind of racing. And with it being an auto with a huge turbo I definately wouldnt think it was set up for road racing. And I never said drag only, I said primarily. Even if you did do another kind of racing wouldnt you say you drag race more?

And btw my car has a 2600 stall and 3.27s, and it is primarily a drag car.

OK, yes drag racing is what I do with it, but its setup to be a good all around car. The ride is very firm and it handles like its on rails. With the right boost controller its not like a on/off switch for the throttle.

All I am saying is that its a great car to do any thing with from a long cruise to an ORR. Of course if I did set it up as an all out drag car it would be interesting... hum.

Well the cage goes in in a few more weeks... Maybe I shoud get a ORR rule book for the 200mph class? LOL

The -3AN line from above the oil filter is the turbo oil feed, nice thing with ball bearing turbo's, they need less oil.

Time for the F1A

Hey now, don't do that, those poor ORR guys are having enough of a problem dealing with my slow-*** ride & my attitude. How would they EVER cope with someone like you & your car? But just in case.....
