I was there last year and the track layout is really cool. It is a lot like the layout in woodburn. the first race is nostalgia only the second is a bracket race open to any cars. I will be there the 14th & 15th so come by and say hi!

How is the track condition? It's been years since I've been on that airport and the pavement wasn't that good then. Did they resurface it?

It sounds like they got it paved and have done a lot this year to get it up and running.

Ugh.

And I thought Bremerton was a drive.

FWIW - The Mustang Roundup cruise is going to be heading out there in a few weeks. It's that large cruise with hundreds of cars originating from BCC. It's on a Friday so I'm not sure if I can get the time off, nor do I really want to start racing again.

Man I haven't been to Shelton for many years. I spent many a day with my father when he was racing Altereds, at Shelton. Even as far back as using Flag starts, hehehe. Got some great Shelton pics from back in the day. The old man also belonged to the Tacoma Timing ***, and IIRC even was a flag man a time or two, as we still have some original flags hanging in his garage.

That event coincides with Pacific Raceway's CCA #5 (the only one in all of July at PR) and the following day is ALL FORD DAY at Bremerton with Bremerton's CCA event.

What happens at this Mustang Roundup, Tyler?

the surface isn't bad, the guardrails are in tight like mission and it has a nice big shutdown area.

When I went to it a few years ago to visit my friend it was like a car show for Stangs with Steve Saleen and his trailers full of sweet cars on exhibit....this one sounds like one he talked about where you could go around the track with Steve.

It's only 15 miles farther to Shelton.

Probably worth seeing, but I'd rather race at Bremerton.

Ya I am going to Shelton, for sure. I dug out some Shelton drag pictures of my father that go back to 1956. I was only just born, but would soon join him at the races. Anyone heard of Scappose Drag strip in Oregon? he won a mid year title there in '58. I was never there he said, and I don't recall ever hearing the name before, but may have a pic or two from there, along with Puyallup Drag Strip, Early bremerton and Pacific, and Arlington Drag Strip. Wait till you guys see the BAD AZZ Altereds that were running in the 60's at these local tracks, unreal.
Robert

Edit: I thought of another old track that is no more, and Mark may remember it. last time I saw it it was closed, about 1975. Anyway, Milard Dragstrip?
