Default LS1 Newbie Dry Shot questions

So I think I'm gonna put a 100hp dry shot on my 2000 Vette when I get home.

Is it really as easy as just a single nozzle and solinoid and aim the nozzle at the MAF elements?

The car is bone stock except for a CAI.

Sorry I'm new to the LS1's, I have a wet kit on my LT1 that is alot of fun though

Yeah I was just looking at that, and secretly hoping for Robert to grace my post with some input.

Seems like his pictures are down on his site though.

Hmmm... have to check for pics...
Seems to be working now, though the damn picture host sucks. Anyway, yes the dry hit is really easy and even simpler than you imply now. Run the HSW Interface with what ever kit you go with. Actually the best dry kit going is the HSW Dry plate kit that includes the Interface. If you like I can link ya to an info thread on the interface? I will be becoming a sponsor/vendor real soon with mucho good stuff, but at this time all I can do is rec that you go to the n2o section and choose NO, HSW or Dyno Tune for your kit, they all will do you right. Tech type questions I would be happy to help with. Some general reading will help a lot, and maybe a search on dry will get you some insight. The wet vs dry thread is always a good source of info. You can pm me also if ya want.

Well I have a 5176 Kit that I was going to use on my LT1, and I was hoping I could just use that, minus the booster pump of course.

Is the stock tune and sprak plugs safe for 100-175 shot?

I'll check out the interface.

You sure could, and the Interface will allow nozzle placement to be just about anywhere, even after the MAF. The best dry tuning tool out there, for a/f and timing pull if needed.

OK I found the interface seems pretty handy.

What power level is safe before using that?

The vette is my DD I was just thinking since I already had the parts why not.

I would do like a 100hp shot. That's how the interface works, you dial in the a/f for what ever hp shot you chose. It's a gamble to just spray with out knowing your a/f, then when you do, the interface can dial in exactly what you want. Talk to Matt or Mike at HSW, they will walk you through it.

Thanks Robert. I'll check it out.

I figure I'll start small and sneak up on it. Its my ride to work so I don't want anything on the edge of kaboom.

Hey Robert I still can't see the nozzle pictures on your site.

Can you post a picture in here of what would be appropriate for my application? I have a regular NOS dry nozzle. I have a HSW black Mamba as well, in case the need for a second stage arises.

I have the dual cone K&N, everything else is stock intake wise.

Thanks

Oh, the nozzle tuning section hasn't been done yet, and may not, with the new tech of the interface, and dry plate kits, nozzle tuning is going by the way side. In the n2o section is a couple threads on nozzle tuning (search) and I think I posted pics that should cover your needs. if ya can't find it, i will link ya later.
Robert
