ok City to get NBA team
Ok as many of you guys know the current owners of the Seattle Super Sonics & the city of Seattle have been having a battle over where the Sonics will play next year.
Well it is offically over. OKC will get a NBA team next year But it will not be named the Sonics. The team will move to OKC but the name & the history stays in seattle.
OKC will pay Seattle $45m right away to get out of the lease of the Key, then Pay another $30m IF the state of washington leg. agrees to improve the KEY or build another arena for a NBA team then Seattle has 5yrs to get another NBA team

Good riddance.
I don't understand why this was such a big deal. I believe they had the lowest attendance in the league the last few years and they want a new arena that the city doesn't want to help build them. Yet when they talk about moving, everyone gets upset.

+1 Good riddance. One less reason for traffic jams. I personally wish we could get some national legislation outlawing public funding of professional sports. Maybe then the players wouldn't be spoiled brats making more in one season than the average person sees in a lifetime.

You guys can have our Jail Blazers if you want
Professional sports is seriously lacking in the 'professional' dept--as in ethics/conduct. The guys you'd expect to see on Cops for beating their wife, getting drug busted or having dog fights are the ones playing these 'professional' sports it seems!

I personally good a whether they have left or not. I have never been to a game, nor would i ever consider going to one. There are so many good and valid comments already that I think I can leave my comments out as they are the same.
Nothing against you by any means, but why the emphasis on OKC. Who cares if it is in the middle of the US. I lived in Nebraska my whole life and never had any professional sports there. And we managed just fine!
