It's alive

Well sort of. I bought an 408 from chris (99blancoss) built by HKE. I decided to go with the MS4 cam and i found a set of heads for cheap so that is my heads and cam. I am using the stock ls6 intake with pacsetter lt's. this is a video of the irst start up, after the oil pump was primed and fuel was getting to the cylinders we started recording. I will have more pics up soon and hopefuly more videos.
Thanks Chris and HKE also thanks to Dunn (cam), james 562(heads) and mostly my dad for letting me borrow his garage for 6 months and all his help.

Exhaust is on now, having problems with the tranny. cant let clutch out without car dieing. tranny seized on hwy 99 coming home:bang:. Well i guess it's only money.

endless money pit i tells ya!

TwoFast4Lv Sep 30, 2008 08:29 AM

Good to hear about the engine sorry to hear about the trans. It will all come together ;)

smokinponcho73 Sep 30, 2008 03:01 PM

Thanks again, actually does anyone now why a tranny might freeze up doing 60 and everytime I try letting out the clutch it stalls, even in neutral?

it is the input shaft bearing that disinegrated evrything else looks fine and it all spins freely. I am also taking it to the drivetrain specialty place here in town to inspect for any further damage.

everything other than the input shaft bearing looks fine and spins freely though

Mikey 97Z M6 Oct 7, 2008 11:49 AM

Wow that's weird. I've never seen an input shaft bearing do that on a T56 before. Is Sixspeeds Inc gonna take care of ya? If not, I have a used spare LS1 T56 input shaft sitting here. PM me if you're interested.

I dont think they will, with the hurricane and stuf going on they are probably kind of in a bind now. Also it isnt their fault the tranny was low on fluid. I may need that input shaft from you, I'm taking it to the guy here in town to have him check it out.
Thanks Brandon

OK, shoot me a PM if you end up needing it.

Talk to Ellis, the input shaf on my late Vette did the same thing. He worked magic on the thing and it turned some impressive ET's when he was done.
