Looking for some opinions on what kind of gun I should get. This will be my first paint gun, so I'm not looking to get the top of the line. I'd like to get a decent gun so I can start practicing and learning how to paint. So any brand recommendations would be great!

honestly for a first gun there is no need to go all out, just get something under 40-50 bucks, make sure it has a regulator to go along with it. once you get better you can step up to the pro stuff. you can get pretty decent guns in 40-50 bucks range. good luck.


and what you posted in the ebay link would be good for you also, pretty decent starter kit

none i can think of on top of my hand. i learned everything from a friend; i would recommend looking up stuff on google and youtube for visuals. however, you also can go in the automotive supply store see what they got; those books give you a general idea. hell, you can also order stuff on ebay/amazon. really, the procedure is the same, there are only so many ways you can do one task, right? good luck with your painting!

painting is all in the gun devilbiss makes some nice kits finish line and starting line good gun way better than a 40$ gun u will notice the diffrence i use a satta as a primer base and clear guns i also use a iwata clear gun the iwata is a expensive gun but worth every penny

I have been a Bodyman & painter for 26 years, I would say get one from snap on!! You can trade it in later & get a better one. Get a HVLP gun I think you will like them, can get one for $150.00 to $175.00, a very good gun will cost you up to $600 to $700 !!

thanks, what kind of nozzles should i be looking for? 1.3, 1.8, 1.0 were in the kit you found, and 1.4, 1.7, and 1.0 was in the one i found

1.7-1.8 is a primer tip 1.3-1.4 is ispaint/clear 1.o is a mini jet tip

If you are looking for a good cheap gun you can get a sharp. If you are looking for a bad *** gun get a Iwata lph-100. 1.3-1.4 are good tips to start with. Except primer wont shoot out as well unless you over reduce it. You will need bigger tips as mentioned above for primer.

the iwata is definatly badass i use that gun for custom work lays clear down like glass only draw back its definatly not a production gun like a sata or similier

yea im just looking for a low prices gun. id rather develop the skills before i invest a whole lot on the best gun.

I learned on a SATA gravity feed gun and it was easy to learn on and did great paint jobs, if i were to get one i would get a SATA. they have some really nice chrome one with a digital guage on the handle that tells you psi. but a regular one would work

never settle for less, youll regret not going a few extra bucks
get the one you want you might have it longer than you think, especially if you get good at it.
