It's not too bad, I'd say the body work afterwards (filler and paint) is the most intensive. The scary part about it is the what ifs, i.e. if you f- up, it could be expensive to make right!

Buy one that already has T-tops. Don't ruin a hardtop car. GM made way too focking many of them with pimp tops.

Why do you guys care if hardtops disappear? What is the advantage of a hardtop

I'm actually doing this as well probably in a week or two. Iv'e already gotten 95% of the items needed (pulled from an 01 TA in a yard) except the paint/filler/tape.

Should be interesting project since iv'e always preferred t-tops over hardtop. By the time i'm done should have only been about $300.00 all together. Btw you have to have some ***** to do this, hurts cutting into your car

idk i have a hard top (personally i'd rather convert to a targa, over t-tops) but most of the camaro's (v8 and V6) i see on the road around here have t-tops or they are vert's.

yes exactly who can say they have a targa fbody,,, I noticed the carbon fiber and fiberglass panels are on sale now if you got the cash. I would do that if i had $ to burn.

hell yeah man. hopefully this time next year i'll have some money saved up to do it. i think it would look really good, instead of having that annoying middle bar from the ttop. and it would be pretty exclusive. ive only seen maybe 2 or 3 targa fbodys.

If my next Camaro I get ends up being a hard top I'll be very tempted to get a targa. That would be sweet. I want at least t-tops tho.

you know i wanted to do a targa top when i got my car....but then i considered some things. Unibodies already sag a little bit because of there design and a t-top is got a lot more flex in it....i wouldn't even want to know how much sag there would be with no middle bar.
