CoSt To FiX???
My front bumper has been peeling badly lately and needs to be stripped and repainted. I also have scratches from the previous owner throughout the car none very serious. My car is a 94 red T/A. Any estimates on what my price will be for a job?

I have a buddy who has a paint shop....not the best quality, but he does decent work.
Granted he's a family friend I've managed to get my hood, and rear bumper cover painted for $175 each.
His painting skills are good, it's his lack of skills with the clear. Plus black is a hard color to finish. It doesnt look like ****, but you can tell it's not flawless. For the price I'm not complaining.
I'm going to get him to redo my front cover eventually.
Down the line, if I still have her and I'm feeling it I will get her professionally painted and add a little pearl to the mix.
Good luck!

The front of my '00 Z28 was backed into recently. I got 2 quotes, $1800 and $2300 to replace the front bumper/pass headlight/headlight bracket, and repair and paint the hood and pass fender. I also have scratches throughout, and the car was previously painted poorly, so it needs to be stripped first, but the shop will do a full re-paint for an additional $2800.

I paid $980 for a new bumper painted and installed after my run in with the hay in the summer of 2007. i'd guess about $400 to repair/repaint a stock bumper.
dude your getting ripped off! you should come up here and check with the body shop that did my car. ABR in merrillville. i paid $730 to have my hood painted on both sides as well as my roof panel and headlight doors. i'm pretty sure a roof panel is harder to paint than a bumper is because they have to tape off/remove a lot of stuff to paint it. hell if i add together the cost of having my front bumper repainted after the hay incident, and the hood, and the roof and the headlight doors it would only be around $1100 for all of that. maybe green is more expensive than black, i dunno but it seems like your getting ripped off. that $730 also included them repairing that small hole on my hood as well as the edges from where it was standing, and installing it. so basically for ~ $1600 (at 2 seperate times) i got my roof, hood, and headlight doors repainted AND got a new GM bumper w/ the $50 bird decal, and had it painted and installed too.

Considering I got a quote of $1600 to replace my front bumper cover, passenger mirror, repair some rust on the rockers, repair the gouge on my passenger quarter, and paint the bumper, hood, fender, mirror, rockers, and quarter, I think $1400-1800 for just a hood and bumper is a big ripoff.
*edit* oh yeah that was with PPG paint too.

doing the whole car for $2500-$3000? I may be wrong here but doesn't a quality paint job run at least $4000 and up? Seems like wishful thinking but if you find the right guy no telling what he would charge. Just make sure they are using quality materials.
