fender repair 4th gen F body

Have 2 used fenders I need to salvage
bottom tab at the rocker panel is cracked
what can be used to glue it back?
I have a plastic (hot air) repair gun.
Or is the 2 part adhesive better?
Have a bumper thats cracked also, can I use same repair method?

anyone?

well if i remember correctly the fenders are polyurathene plastic, not to sure about the bumpers some yrs were polyurathene some went to TPO/TPE/TEO

the most important thing to remember about plastic to identify the type of plastic your working on, polyurathene is yellow on the inside now that plastic is a non offlien plastic which mean it does not need a adheshion promoter for a product to stick and bond too

TPO/TPE/TEO/PP are thermo-set offlien plastics which need a adheshion promoter for anything to stick and bond too

dude i hate to tell ya but your better off buying a new fender or a used from a junk yard

in my eyes beyond repair

tals7 02-28-2010 07:37 PM

^^^^^like he said those 2 100% junk.

toplessHO 02-28-2010 10:30 PM

the fenders I need to repair are not those
the pics are just to show the type of material.
I need to repair the bottom attachment point where it goes into an "L"
and attaches at the lower part of rocker/subframe.
Both fenders have a crack in them at the L.

ook so why dont ya post pics of the actual fenders that needs repair, not of different fenders PICTURES OF THE FENDERS ON YOUR CAR
