Driver's Side Door Stickers

Since I sold my car that needed the door replaced, it's not really an issue any more but I'm still curious. What do people do about the VIN and other stickers when painting the driver's side door? AFAIK, you can't pull them off and reuse them due to the "VOID" marks on the backing.

Masking tape from what I've ever seen. Just carefully cut the corners with a razor or exacto knife.

if you are transferring the tags its 90% failure rate.
Heat gun and patience will net the 10% success.
