Default think i can refinish this car for less than $1000?

hey all, i've had this car a few years and would like to spruce it up a bit.
the green is a cheap respray over the original green paint. plus the last owner hit a deer so the fender and headlight had to be replaced. there are a few cracks from impact in the front bumper.

i'm not looking to get anywhere near a show finish, just get the car all one color. prefereably something lighter and more reflective. florida is hot and this car has no a/c. silver perhaps (the hardest color, right?)

i'm thinking a single stage urethane? would be ok doing it myself. just need to know what equipment i'd need. any particular brands of urethane to go with?
also, what plastic epoxy would i need to patch the front bumper cover?

thanks,

Can it be done? Yes. Will it look good? Most likely NO. what equipment do you have? You need a good sized compressor, a decent paint gun, DA sander, multiple grits of sandpaper, wax/grease remover, etc... If you want cheap, go to MAACO or something. I would suggest you do the prep work though as they dont do ****.

If you go silver I wouldn't use single stage, solid colors single stage is fine,if you have all the equipment or know someone that does you can do it yourself for around 1000-1500 in materials(filler, sandpaper, paper, plastic, primer,se aler, base,n clear but you still would need all the equipment.go with single stage white maybe(nasson is cheap n alright for single stage)

looks like popular hotrodding did a car with it, but put on the clear coat as well.
of course they're professionals doing a budget job so it'll look perfect.
