Default Can this be fixed?

I just bought a wrecked SS the other day and I took it to a local body shop and one guy told me it couldn't be repaired because of the material its made out of. Is this true? Its a GM hood. I got a excellent deal on it and I just want to make it the DD. The bottom had a small crack around where the airbox seals but it isn't a stress point. Just the outer crack is the only real damage. Heres a pic.

I only paid 1500 for the hole car and drove it home. The radiator is fine the only thing it touched was the front clip, foam, plastic top piece that bolts to the bumper, and the impact bar. The impact bar I think can be bent back out but if not I have one on a 93 if it'll work. I bought a ebay front bumper and foam.

Wheres the damage lol.
Don't sweat it man this can be easily fixed. And if you just don't want to mess with the car you can always part it out and make a profit. But honestly I wouldn't do that unless it really did take substantial damage to the frame, body, etc. which it obviously didn't.

It can be fixed but a shop will charge you minimum $40hr for labor... how much do you think its worth?? would be cheaper to sell to someone for a couple hundred and get another hood.... Nice find by the way. Looks like it's got potential, especially if its a true SS

Its got the hood, wing, wheels and emblem on the dash. The only thing I'm curious about on it not being a SS is I thought that the SS had the same air box as the WS6. This cars isn't nearly as high as my WS6 but it does have a rubber strip at the bottom the air opening. Also has anybody bought one of the ebay front bumpers? or any cheap aftermarket front bumper. I found them for 75 bucks shipped so I bought two of them. Do you think they'll be any good?

Your head lights look hazy. You can get some turtle wax rubbing polushing compound and they will look new.

since you picked the car for so cheap just have a little fun and maybe learn to do some body work on your own instead of having a shop do it... that way you can get a little practice in... im learning how to do body and paint now... my TA is stripped (front fenders, bumpers, wing, just not the doors...) and im sanding it all down and repainting it myself... (used the wifes car first to see if i could even paint lol) but anyways just try to fix it yourself... sand it down and glass it (messy and difficult but easy at the same time... it wont be easy to get the shape back and you may need bondo too but its a learning experience while you save for a new hood... or if if IF you can find a wrecked camaro in a yard and yank the hood...

It's definitely fixable, just have to shop around for a price you're comfortable with.

I bought an aftermarket bumper and ended up tossing it in the trash and taking a loss.. Fitment was terrible.. The hood is easily fixable, find another body shop that wants to actually work.. Then order you a oem bumper from a junkyard/ebay.
