Default 98-02 firehawk front bumper cover

Got a question, had an attempted theft of my 99 firehawk- He dropped the car when i showed him my new Glock but The front bumper cover got trashed being rubbed against my tahoe rear bumper. Well i decided to just repaint the whole car and it looks great but the body shop can't seem to get the bumper cover right. Got a 98-02 trans am bumper cover but the hood seems to rest on top of the cover instead of lining right up. Im a mechanic not a body guy so if anyone knows a part # for a 98 -02 firehawk front bumper cover or if the one i have needs to be modified i'd love to know. I'll post pics as soon as i get the chance to go get some. Thanks for any help!

Did they bend something causing it not to line up or is it something different between the two parts that's not letting it line up like it's suppose to?

I thought the bumper had to be cut to allow the Firehawk hood?

no, everything that i see seems to be just fine. nothing seems bent to not make it line up. It's like there's too much bumper cover length. This leads me to think that it is either the wrong part or need to be modified somehow. I've searched for a "firehawk" 98-02 front bumper cover but nothing comes up. I just keep finding a trans am one. My wife drives the 00 ws6 and the bumper covers are the same which initially led me to believe this was the right cover. i''l get some pics posted tomorrow when i get some

the "firehawk" front bumper should be the same as the formula/V6 bumper. atleast thats what i have always thought. yet still the trans am bumper should be the same around the hood. ill try to look though

the 99 i have is the trans am and not the firebird, I was thinking that also. i just still can't find anything concrete yet but if i get some downtime at my work i'll try to look there also.

well if you google "firehawk badge" you can get some good views of the bumper fitment on both the firebird and trans am bumpers

WRONG, there is 2 different type, the formula firehawk and the regular firehawk. the regular firehawk is a trans am bumper with part of it trimmed where the center of the hood meets the bumper so it is flush. you can use the trans am bumper, youll just have to trim it, thats what alot of people do when they get a firehawk hood

I have had the same problem but they don't make firehawk bumpers or hoods anymore so modding will be necessary. Instead of Cutting the bumper I might just get a superhawk hood instead.
