Default difference between t-top & hardtop cars?

so is the fiberglass roof cover the only difference between the t-top cars & the hardtop ones? is there any underlying support structures that are different between the two?

at some point i'm gonna need to replace the fiberglass roof cover on my hardtop car because it got messed up when someone threw a brick at my car, and on top of that, i'm getting the infamous paint bubbling, and if the t-top fiberglass panel is cheaper, i may just go that route instead. i mean, i will obviously need the t-tops as well, but i'm getting a donor car to repair some other damage that already has t-tops, so i should be good there.

Read through this thread. It will shed light on all you need to know, including pics of the roof without the skin on a hardtop.
