Door won't close
 

I recently installed a new door on my 2000 z28 I did this because the original door was busted at the bottom causing the good to sag extremely bad and drag across the sill and not close all the way with the new door and pins the door is correctly aligned and does not sag there's no scrapping on the bottom either however when you close it there is still a 1/4-1/2 inch gap untill the door is flushed you can push the door into flush but it won't stay could this be the striker or the locking mechanism? Any input is appreciated

Probably the latch/striker need adjusted.

Any insight on how to do that

The striker on the door jamb has two large torx bolts. They are TIGHT (and must be cranked back down when you're done).

I don't recall if the latch on the door can be adjusted or not. I think it is just the striker the more I think about it.

The other thing is it could be not fully latching. There are "two clicks" to the latch when closing it slowly. If it only does one click, it isn't fully latching and the striker needs moved outward a bit to let it reach the second click and pull tight.

Alright thanks for the help I'll try the latch to make sure it's clicking twice I was also told to place a block of wood on the stricken and I can tap it in more

Your door latch is probably in the locked position, like when the door is actually closed on the striker. Hold the door handle open and physically move the latch to the open position. I doubt the striker is that much out of alignment, but it's possible.
