Default Aftermarket fiberglass SS hood flex normal????

So I bought a fiberglass SS hood from a guy yesterday. Not sure exactly what brand but it is not oem, it is full fiberglass and very light. The hood looks great.

But, when I installed it, it seems to flex alot. If I hold up one side of the hood the other side will flex a good bit. I've never owned a fiberglass hood so Im not sure if this is normal or what. It is painted silver now and looks fine but I've got to repaint it black. Im not planning on flexing and twisting it around but im concerned the paint could start cracking if it does flex.

Is this a valid concern and signs of a cheaply made hood or just par for the course with a fiberglass?

I have a Trufiber brand SS hood and mine does not flex like that. As light as fiberglass is, you should not physically be able to see a hood flex from its own weight just holding it up on your car!

I'm in the process of painting the underside of mine right now and I've got it unbolted and have been flipping it around and yet to feel it flex, much less see it.

My VFN Sunoco hood flexes a good bit. So much in fact, that I took one of the hood struts off because it felt like it was gonna snap in two with both on. Ive had the hood for close to 10yrs now with no problems. I wouldn't sweat it

VFN offers lightweight struts to remedy these issues.
