I did not paint mine(they are not painted anyway), but used some polishing compound and they look like new. Just use a dab on a rag, and some elbow grease to make them look shiny and totally restored.

I guess you can paint them, but no real need to, when you can make them look really good without having to remove, prep, and paint.

i took mine off once because they were faded. i took them off with plans of replacing them with new ones, they can break easily because the adhesive that keeps them together with the sail panel is pretty strong, im almost sure you're gonna damage them if you take them off....or damage the sail panel.

No need to remove them, since they are just black plastic they can be polished. I used Meguiars PlastiX on mine and they look good as new, any polishing compound should work just as well.

When I got rear-ended a few years ago the black roof piece had to be replaced as well. When it came back, it didn't have the plastic pieces. No way I'm replacing them, it looks great.

They pull right off...start pulling from the bottom corner, closest to the sail panel. Once you get some room, run a finger upward while pulling the same direction to pull the glue off, be patient cuz its gonna take a lil wiggling around for them to come off (that'll keep you from bending or breaking them)

I added some real carbon fiber pieces that were cut to fit them, look really good now and shines great. Very happy with the extra depth the carbon fiber gives and isn't tacky.
