Default firebird to WS6 conversion

thinking about buying a 1995 firebird and converting the front end to a newer t/a or WS6. do any companies sell a kit for this? if not, what do you think it'll cost to do a conversion like this? thanks, melon07

None really. It's basically up to you to acquire the parts (new or used) and do the conversion yourself. It's pretty straightforward, so good luck!

conversion is pretty easy, though the hard part is lining everything up, its very tedious. Though you could probably have a shop do it for you, or if you are paying for the paint then the body shop can do it.

front bumper, hood, headlight covers, headlights, bumper support. If you want it to look exactly right you will need to swap out your front fenders as well.

It would be alot better if you could find used parts. I new a guy that changed his older bodystyle firehawk into a new bodystyle so it is poss. He did do body work though so im not sure what he had to do to make the parts fit perfect. You might have to change the core support but i doubt it and maybe your fender brackets where the fender and bumper attach. But again I doubt it.

Bumper cover - 1998-02 firebird & formula - 1998-02 firebird & formula 98-02 $405.68

Bumper cover - 1998-02 trans am - 1998-02 trans am 98-02 $481.63

Fender Right - 1998-02 - 1998-02 98-02 $194.96

Fender Left - 1998-02 - 1998-02 98-02 $194.96

W/o ram air 98-02 $780.57

W/ram air 98-02 $1,486.23

These are all the prices on brand new oem parts. Heres the websight I got these prices from.

Run a search on my name and you will find everything you need, i did the conversion on my 94 t/a, you need everything from the windshield forward, there are 3 braces you will need, the middle bumper support and the 2 fender brackets on each side. I would search around for a junk yard where you live and see if they have a one there. You will also need the foam and foam brace underneath.

You need several pieces. If converting a Formula to T/A, you will also need side skirts, rear bumper cover, and rear hatch as well.

I converted my '95 Formula to newer T/A and I bought a wrecked '01 T/A for the parts and paid my body shop $2k to paint all the new parts and fit everything.

you have to replace the fenders.

both fenders, hood, bumper cover, support, bumper insides, headlight panel, headlights and covers, underneath covers...i'm forgetting something I know i am...

i was going to do this when the nose of my bird was taken off...it just got to be too expensive. i was going to be paying $1,500+ just for parts and then another $500 for paint, and that was with me lining everything up.

if you have that kinda cash go for it! personally i think the formula WS.6 nose looks sick, either way. post pics and keep us updated if you decide to go through with it.
