Here's the new hotness! We're putting together a wild C5 for my wife.
It's a 99 FRC, with more mods than you can shake a cam at.
Here it is... the before. Needing a rear bumper and decklid... it was just begging to go under the knife.
As slick as the bodies are on the FRC/Z06 C5s... there's always room for improvement. This one is getting a lotof improvement starting with the timeless Tiger Shark rear bumper and C5 export lights.
While the rear was apart I fabbed up an integrated show rack in the trunk well, since she's always "moving in" to her cars and her WS6 tended to be a wardrobe on wheels.
More to come on the engine later, but we ordered the blower hood from Caravaggio, and while it is a flawless piece, it took almost six weeks to get. So in the down time, I started modding on the boring C5 quarter panels.
Here's the result-
C6Z style! while we had the quaters off, Paul (camaroextra) and I put the finishing touch on th inside of the rear wheelwells with a mini-tub. Now it rides low on the 19x13 Aeros with 345/30/19s.
The drivetrain is getting a complete update as well. I swapped in the transaxle from an 03 Z06, and gave the trans and diff a few upgraded parts while they were out. The engine is in the works right now, it won't go in until after the car is painted and on the road. It's getting a forged LS3 with a polished Magnuson blower, and of course all the engine dress up to accompany the exterior.
Here's Paul with the car gutted, getting ready to spray the jambs
Here's the best part. It's pink!!
The whole exterior is being covered in the most retina scorching hue on earth... Rockstar Pink Kandy. The camera doesn't pick up all the color variation... I'll get some in the sun when we pull it out of the booth.

Amazing! If anybody rolls up from behind they will never think the car is worth a damn, especially PINK! Otherwise the hood will give it away, that sounds like a beast of an engine combo. This is going to be the sickest rolling closet out there, the boys at GAS from Pimp My Ride will be jealous. Except they never do any type of real engine/tranny work and do most everything with bondo and paint as far as I can tell... Great job, can't wait to see the progress.

Here's an update with the jambs painted.
Normally I don't spray anything outside the booth, but the booth is currently occupied by a slick Candy Hellfire Red Impala SS we're just finishing. More to come on this one when we get it put back together!
