I know when I drove around with my hood off ( I blew it up with a N20 backfire) It feels like your tapping on the break while going down the hwy. I thought my trans was slipping./going out or my rear was ******* up...

Come to find out it was due to no hood. Im assuming air gets up in the cowl area and acts like a parachute so it slows ya down.. like driving into a head wind. Its just little jolts here and there.. Just FYI.

90% of the old street rod/t buckets and kit cars are probably not technically legal, but they dont get harrased like a modern car would. but if it didnt come with it from the factory it dont have to have it. no matter the state. just like if its befor 62 you dont have seat belts or a horn. if its befor 68 it dont have to have side marker lights. but if its titled after that it does. some states require fenders, but alot of the older kit cars dont have them. its all realitive to the state, and what type and year vehicle it is wheather or not you get hassled over it.

lol well i did go airborn a few times but managed to get control and land safely...lol seriously though it was much better than i expected...aside from a few funny looks everything went fine...the drag was actually minimal and hardly noticeable from the way home with the new hood...for some reason though it seemed that engine was hotter with no hood.....

I am pretty sure it is illegal in a lot of places but one of those rules they don't enforce harshly.

It is considered safety equipment as it does absorb some energy from a crash and it can cause more damage to a pedestrian if you hit them without a hood. Believe it or not.

Now, how in the **** am I suppose to know what your DD is??

Our f-bodys have a fucked up firewall with the lip sticking out 2 feet over the motor!! Take your hood off your camaro and drive it around and tell me what happens *** hole.
You will get wind bursts getting up against it (the firewall and the 2' over hang acts like a chute) and it feels like your tapping on the brakes while going down the hwy....

Im telling you what I experienced... Comes from this. So, I know.

Maybe the airflow is different on the maros then firebirds... I called FLT / Midwest chassis to see what was going on as the car was that bad. I put this part of the hood back on and it was fine.
