408 shortblock, low miles soldok i decided its just too hard to get what i need out of my engine as a whole so i am selling my heads separate. i need to get 2500for the short block. now in the other thread i had some people come on and say such and such a place has short blocks for whatever price, but if you start adding in the options i have on this engine such as the double roller timing set and all top of the line arp fasteners, and ported ls6 oil pump the price climbs way up there. i have a short clip of the engine running with a torquer v2 cam, and will snap some pics soon. the heads are on right now but i will have them off monday and get some pics of the pistons which by the way are -3cc and i do have a build thread that shows the internals before they were assembled. i cant really budge on the price as its already rock bottom and shipping will be at buyers expense. i have to get 2500+ shipping. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM98gnsGX_E https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...step-step.html |

That's a good deal. It'll sell. If I was in the market for a nice E85 motor this would be perfect! |
man i wish the compression was a little less:( |
sorry bro too much compression for my FI setup good luck with the sale :D |
what block ls or lq? thanks brandon |

With the right gasket the compression gets better :D 10.7:1 if you go with .051 10.5:1 if you go with .060 Assuming those ARE 72cc chambers. The L92's are more like 69cc as cast which would explain his 11.4:1 ratio. It would take some pretty hefty port/polish work to get 72cc. You guys run some LSA heads and get 75cc chambers and you're looking at 10.4:1 w/ .051 gaskets. I only type all this because I have the same 408 build and have been researching how to drop compression for FI. Ok, I'm done, LOL:D |
Just run E85... it would be perfect boosted. |
so.. how much would the compression be with stock 64cc 243s and gm mls gaskets?? |

i got 415whp with a 230 cam and the dyno operator said he couldn't get my DR's to stop slipping once it hit its powerband. the torque was as flat as a table from 2000 rpms till around 4500. and it was on a dyno dynamics which i have read puts out low numbers. but it feels amazingly strong. |
GREAT DEAL good luck |
pm me a price shipped to 78415 tx |
bump... |
You have a PM my good man |
This would be a easy 12.0:1 CR with my heads, perfect for E85, prob put out a easy 550+. Wish I had the funds, good luck. |
