Default WTB : 1998 WS6 Trans Am Tailpipe

Looking for the single tailpipe, and attached section of exhaust pipe, from 1998 WS6 exhaust system. This was the one year that Pontiac decided, in their infinite wisdom, to grace the high performance version of the car with a single tailpipe.

I am a new TA owner and just bought a 1998 WS6 TA with 7,200 miles and want to rig a dummy matching tailpipe so the rear of the car doesn't look so stupid.

Or if someone could point me to a source for a matching exhaust tip that would be great. I have to admit I haven't even contacted the dealer but figure there has to be one laying around somewhere where the original exhaust system has been replaced.

Thanks,

Mike O.

they're hard to find, I have what your looking for, but the bottom of the tip is scratched up pretty bad.

If you want, I can get some pictures of it, and send it over in a week or so. I think I paid like $35 for it back in 2004 and it has sat in my parents attic ever since. I would sell it for that price, plus shipping, but I will want to get you a picture first, since the part is not in great condition. I had plans to use 2 of these and I was never able to find a second one, and my car did not come with the stock tailpipe section. Also, 1998 SS"s had the same exhaust, if they customer did not opt for a different slp unit.

Ryan,

Yes, please, send me pictures. It's a place to start.

Thanks for the quick response.

I must have scrapped it at one point, I spent 30 minutes looking for it yesterday with no luck.

Sorry,

Ryan

Default Still WTB - 1998 TA WS6 Tailpipe

Still looking for a used original 1998 WS6 single tailpipe/exhaust tip that came on the WS6 that year.

Looking to fill the void that shows in this picture.

Default Still Looking for 1998 WS6 or SS Exhaust Tip

I am a new TA owner and just bought a 1998 WS6 TA. This is the year where the WS6 exhaust system had a single tailpipe.

It's a low mileage car so I'm not inclined to scrap the exhaust system for an aftermarket system. What I would like to do is find another original tip from this system and rig it as a matching (non functional) tailpipe so the rear of the car looks correct.

I'm under the belief that the original exhaust for a 1998 Camaro SS is the same single outlet and that the tip may be the same.

Hopefully someone has a used on sitting around from when they installed an aftermarket exhaust on their car.

Thanks,

Mike O.
