Default WTB: Transfer case for 02 Silverado 2500

I am trying to convert a 02 Silverado 2500 4x2 setup into a 4x4. This is for a conversion project so I will need the control switches, if applicable. Let me know what you have.

there pricey. i cant remember the exact number, but my t-case in my 02 2500hd went out last year, and a reman cost me $1600, i believe it was the XD264? if that sounds right. anywho, are you interested in a t-case out of a 2008 silverado 4x4? its a half ton and has 14k miles on it.

I might if it fits with a 4l80e I am assuming that the actual 4x2 or 4x4 transmission doesn't make a difference. Hoping someone will correct me if I am wrong. Can't get to the salvage yards during the week and none of them around me are open on the weekends

I have a transmission and transfer case from an 04 z71 I'd part with. They should be pretty similar. Althouh I'm around 12 hours away and I've never shipped anything like this Heh. has around 65k miles on it though

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. I would prefer just to get the transfer case and use what I have first. If that just won't work, then I will start shopping for a new trans to go with the diff. I am putting this in in Jeep afterall, so I could probably do with just a 4l60e instead of the 80 I have. Probably need to start looking more at an 8" rear before long. Just don't think that D35/44 combo will hold for long.

im pretty sure the trannys are diff. most of the time the tail shaft in a 4x2 vs. a 4x4 are diff lengths. at least my experiences with older th350 stuff, this was the case. not sure about the 4l60e's but i would assume they would be the same way.

A 4x4 transmission is shorter, and the transfer case bolts on to the rear of the transmission. A 2wd transmissin will not work with a transfer case from one of the 4x4 trucks. You will have to swap out the transmissions. I could get you a few pictures of mine. The transfer case is mated to the rear of the transmission

I was hoping that wasn't the case, but I figured it probably was. It was only going to cut about $100 off the combo if I didn't buy the trans. Guess I can just disconnect the front axle for a while and run it as a 4x2 That would be a waste though.

What other transmissions will fit with this LQ4? I would like to keep 4x4 AWD auto if possible. I would rather not get a 5-speed as that will just cause my right foot to get heavy.

Your best bet is to buy my transmission I pulled it out of my wrecked truck and The motor is going in my car and I certainly dont need a 4x4 transmission in my rx7 Heh. However I'm not sure what other possiblities you have other than going to a 4x4 transmission
