good luck. i ended up having to buy a reman when mine went out. sad part is, it had a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty with it and 15 months later it started going bad again.

what went out on it? It seems a bearing went bad, then clogged up the oil pump pickup, then the shaft got overheated and destroyed the rest of the pump.

These latest generation GM transfer cases are junk. They are designed to take a ****. I cannot tell you how many of them I have rebuilt from them wearing holes in the rear case and burning up.

yeah, that is what I have heard. Unfortunately, it doesnt seem like that happened to me. It seemed to have developed a leak up on the passenger's side, causing a low fluid issue and burned up the bearings. Didnt see a hole in the case.

Trust me, they are there. Usually its three small pin holes. You will notice on the back side of the transfer case, the dirt and gunk will cover the case. This is where the fluid was leaking and the dirt was sticking to it.

yeah, i believe ya. trust me, the thing is only good as a core. it would cost me more to rebuild it than to get a rebuilt one. chain is sloppy, bearings are gone, pump is broken ON the shaft, bearings welded to the shaft, started eatting case, etc etc.

It probably isn't even a rebuildable core if its that bad. I've seen some really burned up in the past.
