I have a good 10 bolt rear, 4 channel (has 3 channel backing plates on it though, I stole the 4 channel plates for my 12 bolt). I pulled it out of my 97Z, 79,8XX miles. No whines, no knocks, ticks, nothing.

Maybe, Maybe not. R&L is a fairly cheap carrier. I got a trans and rear end shipped to me from NY to IL for about $200. It's an option, if you can't find anything.
