Ours (the only aftermarket one) are molded right off the SLP one. To get it to look like that you just have to prep the edge (which most people don't do because it requires you to reapply the 3M tape we added which SLP didn't) and take your time installing it on the perfect spot on the bumper.

Nope. The way SLP designed it there's no place to say "XXinches from here".
With no experience at all I got my first one right with a friend's help in 30 minutes. Everyone after that took about ten.
It's not complicated but every one out of 30 we get a body shop that seems to think it is. We used to send replacements until our vendor pointed out how pointless they were (it's injection molded, all from the same mold, not possible to have "longer/shorter blems".
You just start in the center, work your way to the edges. Whenever you end up with a 1/4" gap at the wheel well you're pretty much there (this is as close as SLP got it hence them adding screws there on the vertical plane to theirs)...
