I putting my LS1 into a 1980 Malibu and will be using a Th400 instead of the 4L60 that came with the motor. Trans has 60k on it and can come with torque converter (stock), crossmember, driveshaft (steel)..whatever. It's all out of a 2001 Z28. Prefer something sort of local so I or you can drive to pickup

Don't have the TH400 but just wanted to say good luck with the project. I saw you over on MR too. If I didn't have so much tied up in my 406 a LSx would probably be going in my 78.
