A question about the MAFT
When turning the dial to the 5% rich position, I am making the car run richer.
So if I am running rich right now, I should adjust it to the %5 lean position to make the car run leaner right?
These are all for the Base adjustments.
I searched about 200 topics and I came across many different answers.
So if you know what is correct, please post. It will help me and everyone else.
The MAFT will alter proportionally the output of the MAF, as a frequency. The car learns what the fuel requirements are at a given MAF frequency to achieve 14.7:1 a/f part throttle. This "learning" is entered into the LTFTs and the car will return to its original A/F ratio (lean or rich).
This information eventually gets learned into the LTFT at WOT as well.
I own a MAFT, but I have only used it to try A?F changes very quickly on a dyno. I have always operated as if those changes will get learned out in the next 100-200 miles (which they have).
The only way the MAF differentiates between base and WOT is the frequency output from the MAF, whihc I think it changes at 8000 hz (I dont remember exactly).

(+). Otherwise they get set to zero. Trims are
part of closed loop fuel computation, WOT is open
loop.
