Car stumbles when it's wet/raining outside.
 

Whenever I start traveling in the rain the car will occassionally stumble at low throttle position but if I increase the throttle opening it'll eventually kick in and snap you back in the seat. Any ideas as to where the water is getting to and causing this?

Do you have FTRA? Possibly sucking up water into the motor? I would also check all of the weatherstipping around the hood. I suppose its possible for water to leak in and find it's way to electrical connectors/sensors.

I had a bad water leak in my 70 Chevelle and couldn't beleive how fast it moved once it found its way into my car. Moral is, don't hesitate to check very unlikely places, because they may just be an entrance point. Good luck, I'm sure it's frustrating.

Nope, no FTRA. It'll go away with increased throttle position. Again, only does it when it's raining outside. It'll disappear after a few minutes of driving.

I think there's an exposed wire somewhere. Any ideas as to which wires would cause this?

sounds to me like water on your ignition wires. Check your cowl gaskets and such.

hmm, good thought. My cowl gasket is removed...

Also, any water vapor on the MAF can cause this to occur. Is your filter damp when it occurs? Any residual water on the top side of the filter?

I'll check all of that. I keep thinking it's something with the wires, etb b/c if I increase the throttle position it'll go away instantaneously.

Hey man, I know it sounds weird, but when I broke my valve spring it was acting up in the rain...
I have no idea why, and it may just be coincidense, who knows.

Check the old 02 sensors..... same thing was happening to me..... changed the passenger side 02 sensor and all was good....

Yep, pull the O2 connectors apart and check for water in there, it will cause a stumbling idle and misfires.
