HP Tuner Reading Different Car Yesterday my buddy was going to throw a nitrous tune into my 2000 Formula. He read my pcm then changed the tune but when he tried to load the file into the car, it was reading my car as an Oldsmobile Bravada V6. Why is it doing that and how can this be fixed? |
At first I was going to say that would be impossible, but it seems that's a supported vehicle. Perhaps the previous owner did a pcm swap? Make sure the vin in the pcm matches the one on your vehicle. If it is a pcm from am Oldsmobile, how in the hell is it running your vehicle? |
Sounds like your vehicle was previously tuned an either your OS or your vin was changed to something that GM never intended for your vehicle. |
I don't see how the VIN could have changed. I'm the original owner. I bought the car brand new in June of 2000. The same guys has been tuning my car since then. The last tune was done in December of '08. |
If the vin didn't change then the OS likely did ;) Probably to one that was never offered by GM for your application. |
