F'ing KR.... WTF?

4 Attachment(s)
Well, I am at the end of my rope. Still getting KR while rolling on the throttle all the way to WOT.

For reference, I am using EFI Live and custom operating system COS5.

I can stand on it from a stop or stand on it at a given speed and generally won't get any KR but gradually increasing load (as in the attachment), I get it often.

I dropped the timing values in the high octane spark table by 4-5* and will still get 4* KR. The highest is always 4*.

I have NEVER heard the knock or any type of valvetrain chatter, ever. I have to wonder if it is real or some type of resonance.

I have attached some images to review.

Thanks for any help

have you posted on EFI LIVE forums?

Yes, I generally post everything over there. Just thought I would drop in over here, too.

Thanks

Smooth out your ve or maf transfer. Are you getting KR or burst knock? If there is any sudden jumps in your ve or maf it can set off the knock sensors as you gradually roll into it. Also the same thing goes with your spark table make sure there are no big jumps in timing. I do not see anything in your chart showing a wideband either, whats your afr doing ?

I was going to suggest that it might be drivetrain, causing it, like a large stall locking up, or something of that nature, but lookin at your data, it dont look like its when you shift..
IAT is alittle hot for my norm. but I wouldnt think that table would be effecting it.. Check A/F ratios, and go from there... if you do more pulls, post them, I would like to see if it starts any trends.. something more to work with

What year model is the car?

Hey Tatasta.

I took a look at your logs over on the EFILive forum.

Those are very high IATs to be doing WOT's. I do not think our 'high octane' gas is that great out west.

Looks like something is banging (exhaust or drivetrain), but I try to avoid big pulls with high ECT's and especially IAT's over 100F.

Yes, I always run a wideband. It is in each log. Not sure why it is not visible.

I agree, the IAT is very high and I think my spark is still too aggressive. It seems that I have lost some power so I will load a less aggressive tune and log it.

I do use a T/A relocation crossmember that does pop and rattle a little a different loads. Not sure if that is part of the problem. Also, have a 3/8" swivel stuck in the left side header collector that will NOT come out. lol

Thanks
