Default Dyno tune vs hand held tuner

Okay I just finished up my headers and I need to tune the car because its running really rich. I'm pretty much a nube when it comes to tuning so here me out. Should I get a dyno tune which has never been done on my car or get a hand held tuner and do it myself?

I dont think w/ your limited mods you need a dyno tune, mail order should be fine...and dont waste your money on a handheld...you could get the mail order for half the price and it'll be better.

I was contemplating a hand held as well, but decided on a mail order instead. I'm not one that's going to plug in a hand held and tool around with it over and over. I just wanted it done right the first time and then leave it alone, so for me using a reputable mail order tuner was the best choice and for 1/2 the price of a hand held.

It seems most folks here have great things to say about tunebyfrost or wait4me. I chose the later only because for an extra $35 he'll include the ECM so you get to keep your original with the stock tune intact. My motor is stock so it's easy to do and although I will see some engine perf. gains I wanted it to firm up my auto trans shifts. I should have mine by the end of next week.

or you can get efilive or hptuners and tune it yourself...it takes some getting used to but I can promise you that you're going to add stuff in the future and need to tune it again. Might as well not waste your money up front
