Replaced PCM, now I can't get my trans to shift right!! I have an 01 formula, h/c car, runnin a 4200 stall. I replaced the PCM due to a #7 coil issue, that ended up bein a bad computer.. But now the car won't shift. I used hp tuners to flash the tune from one computer to the next, so I'm lost. The PCM I'm using is out of an 02 ta 6spd car, but I've been told that they are all the same, part numbers matched up, so I installed it. It fixed the #7 coil issue, no code, and it's firing, just the car won't shift, like it's untuned?? Maybe I missed something?? |
Did you do a 'write entire' or just a 'write calibration'? It should work fine if you did a 'write entire'. |
First I did just write cal. Then went back and wrote entire. |
check the calibration details in the edit menu, it should have the tranny type. |
Well it shows manual!! How do I change that? Thanks for the info. |
Your old PCM was for a 4L60E? Do you have a copy of a tune that has a 4L60E for the trans? |
Yes the old PCM was from the a4 car, I copied the tune onto a file for a m6 car. Thinking it would be an easy swap.. Guess I was wrong. Do I just need to buy credits for the auto, then flash that onto the PCM instead? Or is there a way to switch the trans? |
So you didn't have the 01 PCM licensed? Not sure how the emission laws are where you at, but you may have to do that anyway to get your 2001 VIN correct. |
I'm from Texas, so no worries, but I see what your sayin. Now if I licensed the tune from the 01 auto car, then flashed that into the PCM, that should fix it huh? Well so much for the cheap route!! Lmao |
