Speed Density Tune with Open LT's

Will there be any problem with doing a Speed Density Tune with open headers??

Frost Nov 22, 2010 12:33 AM

It will have to be open loop SD, but that's it.

sam23 Nov 22, 2010 12:51 AM

will the wideband be effected?

BennyB Nov 22, 2010 12:52 AM

yep everyone i asked said it wont be a problem and like frost said it will have to be OLSD. This is what i plan to do for next year

The only problem is, with speed density your tune embeds
the exhaust restriction as-tuned into the VE. If you add
pipe & mufflers later your VE will be unrealistically high at
higher airflows and you would bend the tune rich.

what about with a little bit of pipe with bullets off the headers or a y with a bullet off of it. I know of people running bullets that have lost no performance what so ever. In other words open headers and bullets shouldnt be that much of a difference considering their flow comparisons correct? The reason i ask is because i would still like to cruise city streets every once in a while, therefor i would want to add a little bit of an exhaust :thumb:

ps not trying to hijack post, just a good place to ask
