Default ARH Wide Band Bung Location

I did a search and found a lot of good info but no pictures of an actual install.

What would be a better place on the driver's side header in the pictures attached? Would it be better placed in the "I" pipe before the cat?

Thanks,
Mike

Depth, distance "effects temperature", and placement are important. Especially on newer e67,e78 and 92 ecms. The calibration is picky when it comes to the signal feedback it receives during emissions tests and dtc checks. They need to mimic the entry, and depth of the stock unit as much as possible. If the sensor sees all 4 exhaust banks, then the sensor needs to be placed in the same scenario on the header as well. In the picture, you can see only 1 tube is being fed when it needs to see all 4. So back farther, but not to far as the temperature drops a lot. Coating and wrapping help things.

Appreciate the feedback. Attached pics of a better location that would pickup all four engine banks.

Better location for the wide band bung?

Thanks,
Mike

I've read somewhere that it needs to be a minimum of 36" from the header flange and on a 10-15 degree angle to prevent condensation accumulation or something.

The cat attaches directly to the header collector and the wide band bung has to be before the cat. There might be enough room there.

I'll take a pic of that connection when I get a chance.

Aftermarket cat? I would keep it away from any and all other connecting portions of the exhaust. IE: where the headers meet the ypipe... etc. I had a bad issue with my old innovate. It was stationed right next to my cutout which I never ever used but it did leak a tad. Sensor would never rear correctly.

I used a bung from a harley davidson for my new aem. It puts the sensor at a 45* vs a 90* like the bungs provided. I put it on the first bend on my off road y. Not in the way, easy access and far away from any possible leaks.
