99 ls1 computer w/ 5.3 truck MAF p0102

I have a code that I dont know if its a faulty MAF or tuning... I used HP tuners to get the car up and running to this point.
the quick and dirty: 1999 528 BMW + 99 5.7 + 4l60e= built bmw tough with chevy stuff. Built the wiring harness from scratch and all is 100% with the eception of the fan 1, fan 2, mil and a/c wiring installed.. so its not 100% but .. :) just havent gotten to it. any rate, I dont know if what needs to be done to get the maf to read correct other than paying $$ for a tune which I will eventually, just not right now... I stil have to graft in the ford 8.8, posi and 3.73, buy $$ axles and driveshaft.
From memory, with the stock tune, it read 0.0lb (im not 100% sure) at idle and wouldnt change with any tps movement
when maf tables (3 or more) were copied from a stock 5.3 to the 5.7 file and then reflashed, the maf reads .21lb which is incorrect but its something ... I have a 5.3 swaped 87 silverado which I could borrow that maf .. I will probably do that tomarow and see what happens.
any insite to a solution?
thanks,
clint

Check for 12 v on the pink wire, ground on black, signal is yellow. Any air leaks after the maf will give a low reading to the pcm

dangit.. I had the maf 12v and ground backwards.. Swaped the pins and started her up and maf reading and no longer having fault. I need to finish the exhaust before running the engine without HP tuners connected as it runs rich into the red at 25%. Im not running a collector gasket between the midpipe where it dumps out toward the axle area and the o2 sensors are about 3" from the flange so dunno if that has something to do with it or if its the MAF settings.

Should I keep the 5.7 maf tune with the 5.3? or something else.. worst come to worst, I'll pay for a tune and then have it dyno'd.
thanks,
clint
