How long does C6Z PCM retard timing for knock? Just bought a very low mile 08 C6Z from Carmax. I asked them to only fill with super when they topped it off for delivery. The porter had to leave the dealer to get super as the pumps at Carmax only dispense regular. So I assumed the half tank of whatever was in there was regular. Accordingly, I pedaled it a bit until the tank was about dry then filled with 100 Sunoco unleaded. That tank of race gas is about empty and I have been hooning it so it should have learned and added any missing timing back. I hope.
My question is how long the does the stock PCM pull timing for any predicted/detected knock? Am I out of of the woods or is there a long term spark retard after knock event that takes days/weeks?
