Default Can I use a 2000 PCM in a 99 car?

I think I have a problem with my PCM. I dont wanna buy a new one until im sure thats the prob. I have a friend with a 2000, both cars are A4s. Can I swap in his PCM temporarely to see if my problem goes away? I dont wanna mess his PCM up. Thanks.

I know the tuning will be different. I just wanna be sure the pins are mostly the same....enough for the car to start and not damage anything.

My PCM went out on a flash 2 weeks ago and I have been running the car with a 2000 PCM ever since. I copied all my tables over to this to this PCM. Car will not idle the way it did with the 99 PCM but other than that it's been working fine. New one is here now. I just need to put it in, download, and start copying table's again.

Thanks. I tried the 2000 CPU in my 99 and it fired right up.....too bad my problem still exists.
